welcome one and all... (david)

to spinnerfall.

a joint endeavor between my very good friend p, and myseslf. eventually, i hope to have an occasional post from my dad as well.

so what is a spinner fall, you may ask? in an oversimplification, spinners are mayflys after they've completed their lifecycle (hatched, flown away, returned to the river the next day, screwed to propagate the species, then died) and fallen to the water. their spent bodies rest in the film on top of the river, wings splayed out, by the millions. trout love them, and some very productive dry fly fishing takes place during a spinner fall.

and in case you hadn't guessed it yet, folks, fishing will be a major motif for this blog. it will also host other creative writing endeavors from p, myself, and others, but rest assured there will be plenty of angling prose on here.

as many of you know, in the last year i have become obsessed with flyfishing, and i've been threatening to start a blog devoted to fishing. i was thrilled to find out that this spring p is getting into it as well, and he suggested we do this together.

so, stop in when you can for our latest adventures and mishaps, and some other creative output as well (p is truly worth reading).

welcome to spinnerfall!
